MBUX is integrated across the entire compact car lineup of Mercedes-Benz, making its series debut in the new A-Class in spring 2018. Its standout feature is the all-encompassing touch operation system, combining a touchscreen, a touch pad on the center console, and Touch-Control Buttons on the steering wheel. Apart from offering an intuitive user experience, it significantly reduces driver distraction.
MBUX is highly customizable, tailoring itself to individual user preferences. This customization fosters an emotional link between the vehicle, the driver, and the passengers.
Media
MBUX completely transformed the in-vehicle user experience, generating significant media attention. Its exceptional design, seamless interactions, and unique user experience led to several prestigious awards, such as the Edmunds Tech Driven Award (UX) for MBUX and the Wards 2020 Best UX Design Award for CLA MBUX.
Conclusion
I consider myself extremely fortunate to have contributed to the development of MBUX as my first major design project. The experience I gained throughout the entire project cycle was truly remarkable. Spanning nearly 24 months, the project involved an initial phase during which I was relocated to Germany to collaborate closely with Daimler's UX team.
